In this generator, the spindle and rotor are arranged in a stacked disc shape, with the stator fixed at the center and rotors positioned on both sides, rotating around it. Notably, the spindle contains only windings and does not include an iron core.
Both the stator and rotor adopt a flat disc structure, utilizing an axial air gap magnetic flux. They are alternately arranged along the axial direction. Thanks to the short axial length and large diameter of the disc generator, it allows for an easy implementation of a multi-pole configuration. This design results in a high power-to-mass ratio and supports low-speed operation, enabling the generator to start efficiently at low wind speeds.
Additionally, the GDG disc-type generators are characterized by their compact size, low energy consumption, lightweight, and robust structure, which contribute to their high efficiency.
